Power Amplifiers
The DUAL-MODE Power Amplifiers from SPEKTRA are designed specifically to provide drive power for electrodynamic shakers. The amplifiers have features which make them uniquely suited for studying the dynamic characteristics of structures.
They may be operated in either a voltage or current amplifier mode, selectable from the front panel. A remote control 'Mute' input allows to remove the drive signal while the amplifier mode is retained. This feature can be used e.g. for observation of resonance decay in structures.
There are also several special protective functions that come into play when the shaker is used to its limits. Because SPEKTRA amplifiers were developed specifically for use with APS shakers, these functions protect both the shaker and the amplifier.
